‘Supergirl’ Season 3: Is Batman Coming?

One of the most known superheroes could be making his way to “Supergirl” Season 3.

Although the superhero action-adventure drama television series did not exactly referred the cape crusader by name, it dropped various references and easter eggs encompassing the mythos of Batman. It hints that pretty much he exists in the same universe.

The first reference of Batman came from Kara (Melissa Benoist), when she mentioned that Clark had tried to work with a vigilante once but did not enjoy the experience. In addition, a few civilians said that they want to move back in Gotham after witnessing Superman in action in Season 2.

Consequently, James Olsen dropped the biggest hint yet during the show’s most recent episode. He said that people fears the Guardian the same they fear “Clark’s friend,” Buddy TV revealed.

Those references may not mean a thing individually, but could mean something when gathered. It is worth noting that these references are not so different from Arrow.

In Season 1 and 2, the crime television series hinted about Barry Allen and Central City’s existence before finally giving him his own spin-off. Although “Supergirl” is definitely not setting up a Batman spin-off, it looks like the show is laying the stone to introduce the Dark Knight.

In “Supergirl,” the only confirmed heroes are Clark in Metropolis and Kara in National City and their powers are only enough to manage the surface area. It is worth noting that Kara, Clark, and the rest of the group does not exist on the same Earth as Barry, Ollie and Sara Lance, giving “Supergirl” more freedom to do whatever it wants, with a cost.

Early this year, The CW has ordered the show’s renewal for its third season after clocking in a 2.7 million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, TVLine reported. “Arrow,” “Legends,” and “Supernatural” tie for third place with 0.7 rating, with “The Flash” nabbing the number one spot with 1.2 demo rating and a 3 million weekly viewers.

“Supergirl” Season 2 airs Mondays 8/7c on The CW.
