Miley Cyrus recently opened up about her much publicized breakup with Liam Hemsworth in 2013. The 24-year-old pop singer admitted that although she had been extremely hurt over the split, she now sees it in a positive light.

“I think, know that everything is happening for the right reason,” Cyrus said during her guest appearance in SiriusXM Hits 1 last May 12, Friday, as cited by Life and Style Weekly. “And I knew that when we weren’t together the first time — I didn’t know if that was the end of it, or knew if we were going to get back together again, but knew that wherever I was going I was on the right path.”

Hemsworth and Cyrus met on the set of 2009’s “The Last Song” and eventually made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 82nd Academy Awards. After three years of having an on-and-off relationship, the couple announced their engagement in 2012, but shortly ended it in September 2013.

In late 2016, Cyrus confirmed in an interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she and Hemsworth were, once again, engaged. Now, the “Who Owns My Heart" hitmaker gushed over why she thinks their three-year separate made them a stronger couple.

“People that break up and get back together — I think that’s awesome because you know it’s true, but also you get time to be yourself, you get time to grow up,” Cyrus said, appreciating how they are now happy being two grounded people.

In other news, the former "Hannah Montana" star dropped the music video for her new single, "Malibu," off her upcoming sixth album last May 11. The said music video, which features several shots of the singer before a shoreline and waterfall, has reached more than 28 million views and more than 1 million likes on YouTube.
