(OnePlus/Stars Post) OnePlus 5 to Compete with Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 with High-End Specs and Mid-Range Price

OnePlus may not be one of the bigger players in the mobile market, but its upcoming OnePlus 5 might just be a perfect response to Samsung and Apple's hype with the Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8. Here are some leaks that suggest OnePlus 5 to be a formidable competition against the bigger and well-known brands.

According to TechRadar's recent post, the OnePlus 5 is already shaping up to be a powerhouse handset with performance levels that could take on the Galaxy S8. Some people might still be skeptical about this and sure, this information is still to be taken with a grain of salt. However, recent leaks suggest that the handset's about to be powered by the same Snapdragon 835 processor.

This is going to be backed up by a towering 8GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Geekbuying's post also suggests that the device will be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery, which could last for more than a day with average use and up to three under stand by.

The display is expected to be also sporting a 5.5-inch 2,560 x 1440 resolution, though, besides this information, there's no telling yet whichever GPU, it will be running. With this important part still out of the picture, it can't easily be said that it will, indeed, attempt to blow the Galaxy S8 away and its powerful Adreno 540 for VR gaming.

To wrap the powerful specs sheet leak, the OnePlus 5 is also expected to be shipping with a 23-megapixel rear camera, which is also going to utilize a dual-lens setup. Again, there's no telling yet what kinds of lenses will be used so determining the actual image and video quality is still to be left with the consumers' imaginations.

The OnePlus 5, despite the already jaw-dropping specs, at least on what the speculations and leaks say about it, is going to be a lot cheaper than either the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Apple's iPhone 8. Several sites already claim that the price would be somewhere around $449.99 though this might still be subject to change, though not in a drastic manner that it would reach price points similar to Samsung or Apple's levels.
