Though “Wayward Pines” Season 3 still has a long way to go before hitting the small screens, it looks like the plot was already revealed by the author of the mystery science fiction series.

Blake Crouch who penned the best-selling trilogy novels titled “Pines” in which the show was based from, revealed the “Wayward Pines” Season 2 finale about the evolution of Abbies.

"Evolution has always pushed forward, and [the scene] suggests that the Abbies are changing also. The Abbies will evolve into something else," Crouch told Entertainment Weekly. "But evolution doesn't have reverse gears. Yes, it looked like a human child, but would it be something perhaps more a stop even beyond the Abbies?"

The author also revealed that if Fox allows the show to be renewed for a third season, they will be tapping more people for additional casts and will focus on the final hours of human’s existence. He also revealed that they will show plenty of profound philosophical questions about humans and use it for the plot.

With these news and even the author’s revelation of possible plotlines, fans are welcoming another “Wayward Pines” Season 3 but Fox still has not confirmed the renewal. Some reports claimed the show may be cancelled due to its poor ratings performance during its second season when it garnered an average of 2.4 million viewers only.

Fox CEO Dana Walden gave hope for the fans and hinted that they have a wonderful plan for a third season of the series but also stated that fans may need to wait for the data about how big the audience will be if they consider Season 3 renewal.

“Wayward Pines” stars Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Shannyn Sossamon, Reed Diamond, Tim Griffin, Charlie Tahan, Juliette Lewis, Melissa Leo, Tereence Howards, Jason Patric, Nimrat Kaur, Josh Helman, Tom Stevens, Kacey Rohl, Hopw Davis and Djimon Hounsou.
