“Blue Bloods” Season 8 has been confirmed by CBS. Though fans may need to wait until fall for any new episodes, there are already updates on what to expect for the upcoming police procedural drama series created by Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green.

The seventh season of “Blue Bloods” concluded on May 5 episode titled “The Thin Blue Line” where viewers got to see Danny (Tom Selleck) intercepting cash shipment heading to Mexico’s drug cartel and his family becomes the target. On the upcoming Season 8, actor Tom Selleck revealed that it will immediately start on where the episodes from previous season has left off.

“I think there is a life lesson in this and we will see where it goes next season,” Selleck told Parade.com in an interview. “I think the unanticipated consequence is Danny’s realization that there can be consequences to the family.”

Showrunner Kevin Wade also expressed his hope for next season and claimed that he wanted to do a version of getting stories out from research and building the main character’s story in dealing with their own dilemmas. He also added that Jamie(Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray) will be playing detectives or undercover operatives for number of few episodes.

For now, all casts have been confirmed to reprise their roles especially Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Sami Gayle, Amy Carlson, Marisa Ramires and Vanessa Ray.

Although Selleck has been numerously reported to be leaving the show, the 72-year-old veteran actor stated that he is still up for more seasons.
