‘iZombie’ Season 4 Renewal? ‘I’m Confident,’ Says Showrunner

There are only a couple of episodes left before “iZombie” Season 3 ends, and that means there is one very important question in the air – will Olivia "Liv" Moore (Rose McIver) return for another season?

While no one knows for sure what will happen to “iZombie” after it wraps up its third season, the show’s high viewership ratings makes a cancellation look less likely. In fact, the “Some Like it Hot Mess” episode drew 0.3/1 rating among viewers age 18-49.

Also, showrunner Rob Thomas is confident “iZombie” will be back for a fourth season. He will apparently introduce new exciting plot points in the much-awaited season finale, which will be resolved in the following season.

“I feel good. I am confident, and hopefully, that confidence is not misplaced,” Thomas said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “The season 3 finale is a pretty major reset of the show, so I feel like if I said anything about season 4, I would be giving away the cool stuff that we want to surprise people within the finale of season 3.”

However, “iZombie” Season 4 does not look good for Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti’s (Rahul Kohli) current zombie cure. The showrunner believes they could not cure Liv Moore yet until they are ready to do the finale episode, explaining that finding the cure would be the end of the show’s run.

While patiently waiting to find out about the fate of “iZombie,” the spoilers for the upcoming episode will surely give fans a similar burst of adrenaline. In “Dirt Nap Time,” Liv Moore and Detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) work together to solve the murder of a womanizing preschool teacher.

Things then get interesting when they bring the teacher’s jealous girlfriend (guest star Shenae Grimes) in for questioning. Meanwhile, Peyton Charles (Aly Michalka) is assigned in an interesting case, while Blaine DeBeers (David Anders) gets into a bad situation.

"iZombie" airs every Tuesday at 9:00 PM (ET) on The CW.
