Reasons Why John Cena Can't and Won't Turn Heel Just Yet – Mostly for the Kid Fans of WWE
The talk of John Cena, one of WWE's most prominent star in the entertainment business going to the dark side, is currently at an all-time high. However, fans of all ages, especially kids can look forward to him not actually jumping over the good guy territory with his statement and the strong given facts that contradict the very idea.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, John Cena made his remark regarding fans wanting him to turn heel for a huge change of pace. Cena shared his thoughts with SI regarding his insight about the entire deal of him, becoming the “bad guy” once more as he was on his earlier days in WWE.
“I don’t think everyone wants me to turn. There is a group of people that don’t like what they see, but the most important message I send is you can’t please everybody, never be ashamed to be who you are, and know that what you do affects people. I look at it as a way to provide hope for families that don’t go through what we consider a normal day by providing a smile and happiness. I look at WWE as a vehicle to provide an escape and happiness. That’s why I’m here every year, I believe in what we do.”
In a five question set, the statement alone he made may reek a bit of hypocrisy for those who aren't too fond of the WWE superstar. However, the fact that the “Make-A-Wish Foundation” heavily relies on his “good guy” image is more than a factor enough for him to stay being a face. The foundation focused mainly on unfortunate children, kids and families, might lose its magic otherwise.
However, the chance of Cena, turning heel, could not be completely ruled out. Back in 2015, Cena was interviewed by Chris Jericho and asked about the chances of him, becoming a heel. As previously reported at Wrestling Inc, Cena looked more than willing to do so in order to take advantage of his feud against The Rock and even had his heel entrance music including a new set of gears. However, this didn't happen it won't like happen anytime soon now, especially with his involvement with the Make-A-Wish foundation.
