BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, have added another record under their belt after dominating the music category at the 9th Annual Shorty Awards.

Winners for Arts & Entertainment industry, which covers actor, dance, celebrity and music, were announced two days ahead of the actual event on Sunday, April 23.

Earlier this year, the popular K-pop act received a nomination for the Best in Music Award along with Missy Elliott, Britney Spears, The 1975, Twenty One Pilots and more.

BTS fortunately made it to the final round thanks to their ever supportive fandom, ARMY. According to Soompi, the boy group competed against Ariana Grande, Chance the Rapper, Ingrid Michaelson, Solange, and Tegan & Sara before they were declared the winner.

The Shorty Awards is an annual awarding ceremony that intends to recognize a personality or a group for their real-time presence on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube and Vine.

Aside from their latest win at the 9th Annual Shorty Awards, BTS also earned a nod for this year’s Billboard Music Awards, making them the only K-pop act to compete against the most popular American artists in the music scene.

The seven-member boy group will battle it out against Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes for the Top Social Media Artist award. The nomination of BTS can be credited for having a large fanbase that goes beyond Korea and Asia.

Similarly, the K-pop act regularly interacts with their local and international fans through their official accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as V Live app for live broadcasts.

The online voting, which partially decides the winner, is expected to open on May 1.  Meanwhile, the 2017 Billboard Music Awards is happening on May 21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The annual ceremony will be aired live on ABC.
