Two episodes left and "Scorpion" Season 3 finale will be finally coming into view. With this, the preparations for the anticipated premiere of Season 4 should be underway by now. However, CBS has yet to drop the official details about its final casting and release date.

Given the series' huge number of viewers worldwide since the first season, the expectations set for the new installment are surely high. However, the ratings from the last episode of "Scorpion" Season 3 which was aired Monday, April 17, experienced an evident fall in ratings.

Shortly after episode 22 entitled "Strife on Mars" was released, TVLine claimed that the series had acquired a total of  6.4 million viewers with a 1.0 rating, which turned out to be much lower than the preceding episodes.

Evidently, "Scorpion" has been doing great in terms of ratings since the first season. But with the current fall from the last episode, will this affect the release of Season 4?

CBS has already renewed the fourth installment earlier last month so there's no need to worry for a cancellation as of the moment just in case the fall in ratings will persist.

However, on the other hand, if the ratings will continue to drop lower until the series finale, the speculations are saying that the premiere or exact release of "Scorpion" Season 4 may be delayed. Is there any truth in this?

Clearly, the release and final casting for the upcoming season are still yet to be announced. Moreover, since the current season is still not yet fully wrapped, this would mean that the release and fresh plots for the next chapter are still yet to be disclosed until Season 3 is finally over.

Though the current ratings noticeably fell, the show is still quite ahead of other CBS shows in terms of ratings and number of viewers. Needless to say and speaking the obvious, the network was quick to get the hit series another franchise because they are happy with the overall performance.

Meanwhile, no other details aside from the Season 4 renewal announcement have been dropped. For now, watch out for "Scorpion" Season 3 episode 23 entitled "Something Burrowed, Something Blew" that is set to return this May 1 on CBS.
