'2 Broke Girls' Season 7 Renewal Still on Hold; Here's What the Exec Producers have to Say
The finale episode of "2 Broke Girls" Season 6 was fully wrapped last April 17, Monday, and now the discussion about the renewal of Season 7 has been recurring in the headlines. With no definite answers yet, will the series still get another season?
Until now, CBS has still kept mum about the real score if whether or not another franchise for the series is happening. With this, the renewal of "2 Broke Girls" for Season 7 will remain uncertain, even more that the last episode of the current season has finally ended.
However, though earlier reports have claimed that a cancellation is more likely to take place than a renewal given its shrinking ratings since the first half of Season 6. It seems like the showrunners have taken the late renewal on a positive perspective.
"This is not the end for these girls. We're not finished and we don't want to be finished and I don't think the audience is finished." executive producer Michelle Nader told TVLine. "Obviously there's no guarantee that we will be back, but we did not write the episodes as a series finale."
Speaking of the finale, a bunch of reviews have pointed out that the plot didn't look like a series finale. Moreover, some fans concluded that the last scene which highlighted Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline's (Beth Behrs) preparation for their future is more likely a beginning of another story.
"This season for us was kind of... I don't want to say a reboot, but we kind of think the show as just the beginning in a way." Nader further added."With the girls becoming successful and finding love, it's opened up a whole new world for us."
Could this mean that "2 Broke Girls" Season 7 is already underway? The hopes to see another story of Max and Caroline are up once again.
"2 Broke Girls" Season 6 episode 22 entitled "And 2 Broke Girls: The Movie" had put an emphasis to Max and Caroline's separate lives. Max was on her way working her on-and-off relationship with Randy (Ed Quinn) while Caroline took the spotlight at the red carpet premiere for The Princess and The Ponzi.
Meanwhile, CBS has yet to issue their final say about the fate of "2 Broke Girls" Season 7 so the fuzzy talks about the renewal will remain on a thin line until the network gives the green light.
