Does Bill O’Reilly Deserve his Downfall?
After hosting the number one news program in cable for 15 years, Bill O’Reilly has been ousted from the job.
O’Reilly has been getting backlash from the public and advertisers withdrawing from his program after the revelation of several sexual harassment in which he tried to quietly settle. Moreover, Fox News Channel has decided to remove the host in its famous program “The O’Reilly Factor.”
“After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the Company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel," a statement read.
O’Reilly gave out his statement about Fox’s announcement of removing his program and from the network saying he has been proud in leading and launching successful news program history which has informed and entertained Americans, contributing in building Fox’s integrity in news.
"It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims,” the Fox anchor added. “But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today. I will always look back on my time at Fox with great pride in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my dedicated viewers. I wish only the best for Fox News Channel."
However, several celebrities including women rights organization have stepped out and quick to respond that O’Reilly deserved this downfall on his career and image.

American actress and activist Mia Farrow also expressed her thoughts by posting a tweet that says “Fox firing Bill O'Reilly is huge and hopefully sends an effective signal to all guys, however powerful, who harass & maul women.”
Women’s rights organization UltraViolet and National Organization for Women (NOW) also released a statement following the news of Bill O’Reilly departing Fox News, saying that he derserved the downfall and that the sexual harassment allegations revealed the anchor’s disturbing misogynistic behavior.
