Will Clifford DeVoe’s The Thinker be ‘The Flash’ Season 4’s New Villain?
Now that executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased fans for “The Flash” Season 4, saying that it won’t have speedster as the main villain, certain fan theories about the next big bad guy are all over the Internet.
Kreisberg shared insights during the Paley Fest in Los Angeles regarding the upcoming changes on the superhero series. "Next season, we're not going to have a speedster as the main bad guy," he said.
For the entire run of the series, every season has been mainly focused on the speedster as a villain starting with Tom Cavanagh/Matt Letscher’s Reverse-Flash in the first season to Teddy Sears’s Zoom up to Savitar’s mysterious god of speed portrayed by Andre Tricoteux.
"With Savitar, we know who he is, and we've been planning this for a while," said Kreisberg about the current season’s villain. "The first two seasons were about having fun with his powers, and this season for Barry [Gustin] is really about the pitfalls of having powers, and that's the story we wanted to tell. That's why Savitar was the perfect villain for that story."
It can be noted that while the executive producer told the fans in the Paley Fest about the next villain, thunderous round of applause and cheers erupted which clearly says viewers and fans are ready for a new story and chapter in “The Flash” mythology.
With this, several theories claimed that Clifford DeVoe’s The Thinker will be the next villain. Devoe’s The Thinker is a genius inventor who is responsible for the Thinking Cao. He was a member of the Injustice Society as Suicide Squad.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Devoe’s name was mentioned among the main villains from each of “The Flash” season which could mean he will be tapped to be the next villain.
While waiting for “The Flash” Season 4 updates, catch Season 3 episode 19 entitled “The Once and Future Flash” as it airs on April 25 in The CW.
