(Instagram/amcthewalkingdead) 'The Walking Dead' Season 8 will premiere with the show's 100th episode, starting in October 2017.

It has only been two weeks since “The Walking Dead” Season 7 aired its finale episode, yet many are already yearning for another season. With the all-out war about to begin, fans of the show are already wondering about when the eight season of the hit AMC series will air.

In past seasons, "The Walking Dead" has premiered around the second-to-last of October and it runs until around March or April. Should AMC follow the same system, the season should begin on Sunday, Oct. 14 or Oct. 21 and will premiere with the show’s 100th episode, according to Comic Book.

As we patiently wait for Season 8 to premiere, actor Andrew Lincoln has given viewers a treat when he recently shared what we can expect from his character, Rick Grimes, in the coming season. Also, he said he is more thrilled than ever to return to the set and bring the fight to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

“I can’t wait,” Lincoln told Entertainment Weekly, adding he had no advance knowledge of the big Scavengers twist in the finale. “This is not hyperbole. This is not a cynical act to try and amp up enthusiasm for the hundredth episode in Season 8, but I am genuinely more excited about this next episode and the following 15 than I’ve ever been in my life. I can’t wait to get back.”

It looks like the long wait will be worth it when “The Walking Dead” Season 8 premieres. In fact, the 43-year-old English actor promises fans that the zombie apocalypse TV series is aiming to bring its greatest episode ever.

“It’s been a lot of placing the chess pieces and positioning and introducing key players in this landscape,” Lincoln continued. “And I think now we get to start really playing the game. The game is afoot, as they say.”
