Vanessa Hudgens Reveals ‘High Fats’ Keep her Body in Shape

Hollywood star Vanessa Hudgens recently revealed her secret in keeping her body slim and fit.

After purposely gaining 20 pounds for her role as a pregnant teenager in the 2013 indie film “Gimme Shelter,” the 28-year-old actress quickly shed off her unwanted fats by eating avocado every day.

“I need high fats,” Hudgens says in the May issue of Women’s Health magazine as cited by YOU. “If I’m not getting enough, my body holds on to calories. We’ve been trained to think that fats are bad, but they’re so good – a source of energy and sustenance that keeps you going through the day. That’s the only way I can not eat carbs.”

The “High School Musical” star added that she already lost 10 pounds after adapting the diet. “Since I got back to eating like this the last month or so, I’ve lost 10 pounds, which is a lot for my height [5'1''].”

Hudgens also confessed that she is really competitive when it comes to fitness. She even enrolled herself in fitness classes like “SoulCycle,” attending a twice-a-week session and is one of her favorite things to do.

“I’m really competitive when it comes to fitness; I like being around people so I can compete. Put me on a bike in a room with loud music, and I’m happy. It’s like dancing without the stress of worrying if you look good.”

The actress also noted that she likes going to the gym with her sports bra than a t-shirt. “I don’t like to wear t-shirts when I work out because it’s better motivation when I can see my body,” she explains.

When she’s hitting the gym, she is either doing Pilates or yoga. Vanessa Hudgens considers these exercises as her “therapy.”
