Former 2NE1 member, Gong Minzy, recently admitted that she could not control her excitement as she returns to the music spotlight after leaving the girl group in early 2016.

On April 17, Monday, Minzy held a showcase to present her debut mini-album titled “Minzy Work 01. ‘Uno’, which contains six tracks – including the single and title song "Ni Na No" featuring South Korean rapper Flowsik. There, the 23-year-old Kpop idol admitted she is both excited and nervous to be back in the music industry after quite a while.

“Of course, there’s pressure,” Soompi quoted Minzy as saying before a predominantly Korean crowd. “It would be a lie to say there wasn’t. There is pressure, and there are also aspects that make me nervous.”

Thankfully, Minzy’s worries gradually diminished with the help of her former 2NE1 co-members – Lee Chae Rin (CL), Sandara Park and Park Bom. She then revealed she still keeps in touch with each of them.

“We monitor each other, and communicate with each other frequently,” Minzy continued. “They also cheer me on a lot.”

Minzy then talked about her former agency, YG Entertainment, saying that it is like her family’s ancestral home. She added: “After all, that is where [YG Entertainment] I learned to sing and dance. It was a great help for many reasons – because there was YG, there can be the artist Gong Minzy.”

While her former agency is like her family’s ancestral home, Minzy described her new agency, Music Works, as having a family-like atmosphere. She added that she is now more hands-on on her works and is able to contribute more ideas in the process.

This comes after news broke out that the former 2NE1 member will have her first Japanese concert. It will be held on May 5 at the Hitotsubashi Hall in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan, according to Music Works, as cited by The Sports DongA. During the show, she is expected to perform several tracks from her debut mini-album.
