As fans across the globe patiently wait for its arrival, details about the animated series are gradually starting to surface. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming “Code Geass” Season 3.
1. ‘Code Geass’ Season 3 official title and plot details
The third season of "Code Geass" is entitled “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection.” It will take place several years after the events of Zero Requiem plan, wherein Suzaku Kururugi (Takahiro Sakurai) disguised as Zero (Jun Fukuyama) and killed Lelouch vi Britannia (Sayaka Ohara).
2. Is Lelouch vi Britannia immortal?
“Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” would star an alive Lelouch vi Britannia and not as an alternate setting. The protagonist will return not through alternate dimension version or through the process of cloning, according to Anime News Network.
However, many are confused as to how the series will make a return considering that the second season of “Code Geass” ended with Lelouch Vi Britannia’s death. As a quick refresher, the latter sacrificed himself to make peace among the world’s superpowers.
With that in mind, a YouTube channel NextLevelNoobs examined the possibility of Lelouch Vi Britannia's immortality – claiming that the protagonist has already obtained the Code.
3. ‘Code Geass’ film trilogy
Aside from “Code Geass” Season 3, the franchise is also producing a three-part film series, which will recap all 50 episodes of “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” (Season 1) and “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2” (Season 2).
The first installment in the “Code Geass” film trilogy is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2017.
