Sandara Park is looking to slow things down a bit. The 32-year-old idol-turned-actress recently said she plans to take a break from her singing career to focus on her acting projects instead.

In a recent sit-down interview with Ilgan Sports, as cited by the Korea JoongAng Daily, Park talked about her first lead movie role in “One Step,” solo singing/acting career and whether or not there is a 2NE1 reunion in the future.

First, Park talked about how she prepared for her first lead movie role in “One Step.” In the musical film, she plays Si-Hyun, a young woman who loses her hearing after a car accident and learns to enjoy music in her own way through color.

“Until two years ago, I was taking acting classes at my agency with other young models and aspiring actors,” Park revealed. “But after a role in the movie was confirmed, the teacher told me to stop coming.”

Park went ahead to reveal that her ultimate goal in life is to become a versatile entertainer, naming Uhm Jung Hwa and Lee Hyo Ri as role models.

“I do want to do both and show the power of a woman in her 30s,” Park continued. “I respect what other actors and singers have done, like Um Jung Hwa or Lee Hyo Ri. I want to follow in their footsteps.”

When asked if she considers making a solo album, Park said she really wanted to do one to repay the support shown to her by fans. However, she decided to concentrate on her acting project for a while and whenever she has spare time, she will meet with producers and check if there are any good songs.

Besides “One Step,” Park was also cast in the film adaptation of Soonkki’s “Cheese in the Trap,” Soompi reported. She plays Jang Bo-Ra, the energetic and honest best friend of the heroine, Hong Seol (Oh Yeon Seo).
